By accessing or using the Service you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions of Use ("Terms"). If you do not fully accept them, please refrain from using the Platform.

1. Definitions

2. Purpose of the Service

flu.lu allows you to shorten, customise and manage hyperlinks. The basic Service is free of charge upon registration; enhanced features are provided on a subscription basis as detailed in section 5 below.

3. Account Registration and Management

  1. To use the Service, you must open an Account by providing accurate and complete information.
  2. The User is responsible for keeping their credentials confidential and for all activities carried out through the Account.
  3. Flu.lu may suspend or close the Account in the event of a breach of the Terms or unlawful use.

4. Intellectual Property

  1. The source code of the flu.lu engine derives from the open‑source project published by Aldo Prinzi (github.com/prinzimaker/link_shortener). That code is distributed under its respective open‑source licence, which remains fully valid.
  2. The Platform’s code, customisations and security measures implemented by Flu.lu constitute protected intellectual works. It is forbidden to copy, reproduce, decompile, reverse engineer or otherwise attempt to extract the code of the Platform, except as permitted under the licence of the original project.

5. Paid Features

  1. Certain features may be available only with a paid subscription plan.
  2. Charges are billed in advance for the relevant period according to the price list in force at the time of purchase. Unless cancelled, the subscription renews automatically.

6. Link Expiration

  1. Links created:
    • by Users on the free plan: expire 12 months after registration unless an upgrade is performed.
    • by paying Users: expire 12 months after the last payment unless the subscription is renewed.
  2. Upon expiration, Links are deactivated and may be permanently deleted.

7. Security, Checks and Prohibited Use

  1. Every Link undergoes an initial automatic check to detect malicious content, phishing or spam.
  2. Flu.lu performs additional periodic and real‑time checks; Links deemed harmful are immediately disabled.
  3. Users identified as hackers or scammers will be permanently banned and all their Links will be removed without notice.
  4. It is expressly forbidden to use the Service to:
    • distribute malware, phishing or other illicit content;
    • violate third‑party rights or applicable laws;
    • bypass filtering or security systems.

8. Payments, Refunds and Invoicing

  1. Fees are quoted in euros, VAT excluded unless otherwise specified.
  2. No refunds are due for periods already invoiced, without prejudice to non‑waivable consumer rights.
  3. In the event of non‑payment, Flu.lu may suspend the Service until payment is brought up to date.

9. Term and Termination

  1. The User may close their Account at any time via the control panel or by written notice.
  2. Flu.lu reserves the right to discontinue the Service with 30 days’ notice, refunding any unused portion of the subscription.

10. Disclaimer of Warranty

The Service is provided "as is", without any warranty of availability, continuity or fitness for particular purposes. Flu.lu does not warrant that Links will always be active, error‑free or secure.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Flu.lu shall not be liable for indirect, consequential or data loss damages, except in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence. In any event, the total liability shall not exceed the amount actually paid by the User in the 12 months preceding the damaging event.

12. Changes to the Terms

Flu.lu may amend these Terms at any time; changes will be communicated by email or dashboard notification and will become effective 15 days thereafter. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Italian law. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Court of Palermo, save for non‑waivable provisions.
